Influencer Marketing 101
What is Influencer Marketing?
Influencer marketing is exactly what it sounds like. A person, group, place or brand that can influence a target market (highly visible, respected) because they talk about it, use it or tell others to buy it.
Who are typical Influencers?
Celebrities & Bloggers are the most common influencers. People with a massive social media following are whom you want involved in your brand. Again, you want influencers that are highly visible, highly respected and can get your product/your brand a lot of exposure.
Why Does your Brand Need Influencers?
Customers trust 3rd parties more often than they do the brand itself. In the case of Post + Proper, if Gwyneth Paltrow recommends a skin product…it’s in our shopping cart!
Forbes.com says, Instead of simply looking at followers (when it comes to your brand’s social media) a better equation for brands to consider is:
Influence = Audience Reach (#of followers) x Brand Affinity (expertise and credibility) x Strength of relationship with followers.
Post + Proper’s advice:
If you are going to put dollars towards influencer marketing, make sure you are interacting with your audience in a real way. Make sure to find an influencer with shared interests of your audience, with a proven background of trust and sincerity to interact with your brand and your potential new customers.
